Schools Beyond Kazimierz: Secular Education of Krakow’s Jews (PL)

01.01.1970 - 10:00 / Cafe Hafuch, ul. Józefa 25

Secular education opened new opportunities for Kraków’s Jews, symbolically (and physically) moving them beyond Kazimierz and the world of tradition. During this lecture, we will explore questions such as: What role did education play for successive generations of Kraków’s Jewish community? Did boys and girls have equal access to it? Which secular schools did Kraków’s Jews attend, and what do we know about their everyday experiences there?

Space is limited (30 people), registration required.
