Professor Taiseer Elias is a globally renowned oud and oriental violin virtuoso.  His extensive career includes performances on prestigious stages locally and internationally, establishing him as a leading soloist in Arabic art music.  He is recognized as the leading artist in the interpretation and improvisation of classical Arabic music, uniquely unifying it with musical traditions worldwide, including Western musical traditions.

Professor Elias served as a faculty member at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, establishing and heading its Oriental Music Department for 17 years, and held an associate professorship at Bar-Ilan University.  Currently, he is a full professor in the Department of Music at the University of Haifa, where he served as department chair for the past five years, and was recognized with the “Outstanding Lecturer” award from the University of Haifa Rector in 2017.

For ten years, Elias led the Arabic music department at Kol Israel, presented Arabic musical programs on Israeli television, and chaired judging panels for Arabic singing competitions including “Aravission” and “Arab Star.” Furthermore, Elias champions music as a fundamental human endeavor that fosters spiritual growth and counters extremism and cultural prejudice.
